About EDAS

At EDAS (Eating Disorder Awareness in Sports), the main goal is to spread awareness about the severity of eating disorders in general but also specifically in athletes. Many athletes don't realize the harm they are causing by engaging in eating disorder behaviors. In contrast, many individuals believe that if they are not bone thin or in a treatment facility, their eating disorder is not severe, and they don't need help. This is entirely false; an individual who has disordered eating doesn't have a specific look; it's not the appearance of the individual that signifies that they have an eating disorder. It's the behaviors the individual partakes in. Our main goal is to educate individuals on what those eating disorder behaviors can look like for different types of disordered eating.
